Our Story
Founded in 1996 by Todd Camp and Shawn Moore, Q Cinema is Fort Worth’s LGBTQ+ film festival. For nearly three decades, the festival has connected audiences through bold, thought-provoking, and entertaining stories celebrating the diversity of LGBTQ+ experiences.
Following several years of dormancy, Trinity Pride Fort Worth is honored to steward Q Cinema into its next chapter, celebrating the festival’s 30th anniversary while ensuring it continues to serve as a vibrant cultural home for LGBTQ+ storytelling in North Texas.
Our Vision
Q Cinema is a curated, non-competitive festival showcasing acclaimed LGBTQ+ films from the international festival circuit alongside emerging voices and regional filmmakers. Our goal is to connect Fort Worth audiences with exceptional queer cinema while positioning the city’s Near Southside neighborhood as a destination for LGBTQ+ arts and culture.
We believe great queer cinema is both deeply personal and universally resonant.
Our programming celebrates artistic excellence, bold storytelling, and diverse LGBTQ+ experiences—from internationally acclaimed film festival favorites to intimate independent discoveries—while honoring the films and filmmakers that shaped queer cinema’s past.
